Annual Feast of St. Mary's Birth in Finote Hiwet Seattle, WA

In the Diocese of the United States of America and Canada, Sub-Diocese of the Western US in the city of Seattle, WA the Annual feast of the birth of the Holy St. Virgin Mary was celebrated with great joy on the 2nd of Ginbot 2017 ecclesiastical calendar (10th of May 2025).

What made the feast special was the presence of various churches, esteemed fathers, teachers, priests, deacons and congregants under the Holy Synod of Eritrea from within and outside the Seattle area including Vancouver Canada and Indianapolis.

In accordance with the schedule, beginning on the eve of the feast on the 1st of May 2017, May 9 2025 at 4pm the vigils of the feast were completed together with the fathers and clergy from both within and outside the Seattle area from Indianapolis and Vancouver, Canada.

After a brief resting period, the fathers arose early to honor the feast of the birth of the Holy St. Virgin Mary and complete the morning canticles.

Following this, father Priest Misgina, from St. Gabriel’s church in Vancouver and Father Priest Andom who served for many years as a deacon at St. Mary’s in Seattlenow serving as a priest at Kidane Mihret (Covenant of Mercy) Indianapolis, both led the rite of the Liturgy. Subsequently, after the Liturgy the chief fathers led in the hymns of the church the adult, youth, and children Sunday school students of St. Mary’s sang hymns in honor of the feast day.

Father Misgina then taught the homily in honor of the Holy Virgin St. Mary and relayed how she is the boast of mankind referencing both Old and New Testament teachings.

The Church’s tabernacle (Ark of Law) procession was held with great honor by the leadership of reverend fathers, vested clergy bearing the cross and censer, together with Sunday school members of Holy St. Virgin Mary’s and members of the Seattle and the surrounding area faithful they orbited the church. The holiday was finalized with prayer and supplication.
