You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the earth. May the glory of the LORD endure forever. Psalm 104:30-31
On the third hour on Pentecost day, suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where the Apostles were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.(Act 2)
This situation displayed the power the disciples were filled with, and their ability to perform greater tasks, and how the Lord can use people to his glory. Our Mother Church teaches that the apostles were ordinates to be priests at the day of Pentecost. After that day they become the Light of the world through spreading His word and baptizing children's God.
This was done to fill full the prophesy of the prophet Joel, "'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams" (Joel 2:28) . And also through the Pentecost, the disciples also fulfilled prophesy of St. John the Baptist, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" Mt. 3:11).
Therefore, baptism of Holy Sprit began at the Pentecost. The fire of the Holy Ghost was a representation of the cleansing action purging the soul of the blemishes and purifying the mind of unclean thoughts. As our church teaches in the mystery of Holy Baptism, during baptism, the Holy Spirit descends upon the water and turns it from ordinary water into living water which washes a person and gives him a new birth. And through this baptism, we believers Also gain, as Apostle Paul call it, FRUIT OF HOLY SPRIT. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Gal 5:23). However, we youngsters especially need to keep this Grace of God by obeying the Holy Sprit and the instruction of the Holy Church. In addition to that one should always have to pray, fast, confess, read the bible, and to at most s/he has to take the Holy Communion to be filled with those fruits for ever.
"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Rom 5:5"
May God bless and protect all of us.
